Let the word of God be the emphasis of correction on your children not traditional proverbs.
So many Christian parents corrects and advice their children with proverbs, traditional proverbs that may be good but not in standard with the word of God.
The bible says we have been called out of every tribe, every tongue, and every nation... our language and mindset should be of christ. The word of God is profitable to direct, teach, rebuke... fill your mind with them. When we study the word of God with the light of the holy spirit, we can use it in accomplishing anything and we will never be out of place. In fact the world will be envious of us because our ways are shining brighter.
Dear singles, Were you brought up in this way as a child, and you want to break this circle in your time? Then start as a single to uproot every orientation that you know are outside God's will and command and replace each with the word of God.
The scripture contains the book of proverbs, the Bible says "it can make us know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair.... for giving knowledge and discretion to the young." It will surely give you wisdom.
Am I against traditional proverbs, not really, all I am saying is examine every word or statement you utter, if it is not rooted in God's word, then you do not need it.
