Short Exhortation from Joshua 9
BIBLE PASSAGE:Joshua 9
One of the greatest lessons from Joshua 9 is that every decision should be taken with God’s guidance. Joshua and the leaders of Israel were deceived by the Gibeonites because they relied on what they saw and heard instead of seeking the Lord’s direction.
The Bible says they “did not inquire of the Lord.” That one mistake led them into a covenant they could not reverse.
As believers, appearances can be deceptive. Opportunities may look good, people may sound convincing, and circumstances may seem favorable, but we must first seek God’s wisdom through prayer and His Word.
Never let urgency replace prayer. A few moments spent seeking God’s direction can save years of regret.
May God give us the wisdom to seek Him first in every decision, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
