“A life touched by Jesus should never be idle”

The Touch That Changes Everything
In Mark 1:29–31, Matthew 8:14–15, and Luke 4:38–39, you will find a simple but powerful story, where Jesus enters Simon Peter’s house and finds his mother-in-law sick with a high fever. Without hesitation, Jesus
rebukes the fever, takes her by the hand, and lifted her up. Instantly,
she was healed - and what did she do next?
"She got up at once and began to serve them." this act may seem small, but it carries a profound spiritual truth that states “
true gratitude is expressed through service”.
-
Gratitude Is More Than Words
Many people say “thank You” to God with their lips, but their lives remain unchanged. Peter’s mother-in-law responded not just with words - but with action. As soon as she was healed,
she served. She didn’t wait. She didn’t debate. She didn’t even rest of eat after her illness, she began to serve immediately. She recognized the touch of the Master - and her immediate response was to
give back through service.
What has God done for you?
Have you been healed, saved, delivered, or blessed? Then don’t just speak your thanks—
live it out through your services in this order;
(I) To him that saved you
(II) To others around you either they deserve it or not and
(III) To yourself and your immediate family.
-
When you offer service, it is also a worship to God
The Bible reminds us in Romans 12:1:
“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
Service is not something we do in church alone. It is a lifestyle that springs from a heart of
gratitude. Whether it’s helping someone in need, showing hospitality, supporting the church, praying for others, or sharing the Gospel -
every act of service is a way of saying, “Thank You, Lord.”
-
Healing Comes with a Purpose
Why did Jesus heal her? He had compassion - Yes, but every miracle Jesus performed carried a message.
He heals us not only to relieve our suffering, but to
restore us to purpose and our purpose of living is to praise God all the days of our lives. You are not saved or healed to sit idly—you are saved to serve.
Peter’s mother-in-law wasn’t famous. She didn’t preach a sermon or travel with Jesus. But she served in her home, quietly, humbly and her act was important enough for God to have recognized it and took a record of it to generations even till date.
Every simple act of service matters in the Kingdom of God.
